A record of two, growing.
Every school year, kept as it happens rather than remembered afterwards. It starts on a Wednesday morning in September 2026 and runs to a June sixteen years later. Right now there is one chapter open.
The record for 2026-27, grades, conferences, decisions and moments
Sixteen years in four stages, the way anything growing does it. Years fill in as they arrive.
Just up. Montessori, eighteen months to five, where they learn to carry their own water, put on their own shoes, and leave a room knowing it is still there when they come back.
Rooting down. Reading stops being a task and becomes a way of getting somewhere, and the days get long enough to hold a whole idea.
Putting on height fast and unevenly. The years they start deciding who they are, mostly out of earshot.
Full height and their own light. Ending in June 2042, sixteen school years from the first morning.
